REDRAFT REAPER — PRIVATE LEAGUES
Start a Playoff Fantasy Football League With Friends
Playoff fantasy is more fun with people you know. Redraft Reaper's Premium leagues let one person act as commissioner, invite a group, and set the rules. Here is how private leagues work and what a commissioner can control.
Two Ways to Set Up a Private League
- Premium invite-only: $12 per manager. A commissioner creates the league and invites people by league ID. Each person pays their own entry.
- Premium buyout: $120 for a full 12-team league. One person pays once, then invites whoever they want.
- Both are ad-free and are never merged with other leagues, so your league stays your league.
Inviting Your Group
Every league has a league ID. Share the ID with your friends, and they join with their own accounts. Up to 12 managers can play in a league.
What the Commissioner Can Customize
Premium commissioners can adjust the settings that Standard leagues keep at their defaults:
- Scoring: choose no, half, or full PPR, and customize point values.
- Pick clock: 30, 45, or 60 seconds per pick.
- Draft order: random, set manually by the commissioner, or based on the previous round's score (highest or lowest first) from the Divisional round onward.
- Round advancement: Elimination (the default -- the lowest scorers are out each round), Aggregate (managers are ranked by cumulative score across rounds), or Head-to-Head (managers are paired up when the round's draft starts, so everyone knows their opponent and can follow the matchup live; each pair's higher scorer advances, and at Wild Card the two best-scoring losers also move on to fill the eight Divisional spots).
- Keepers: allow 1-2 keeper players to carry into the next round's draft. Keepers are not available in the Wild Card round, and a kept player stays in the draft round where he was originally drafted, so you skip that round's pick.
Head-to-Head Leagues: The Wild Card Exception
If your commissioner chooses Head-to-Head advancement, managers are paired up when the round's draft starts, and each pair's higher scorer advances.
In Head-to-Head leagues, the Wild Card round has one exception. 12 managers make 6 pairs, but 8 advance to the Divisional round, so the 2 highest-scoring losers advance along with the 6 pair winners. A manager who loses their matchup can still move on if their score is one of the 2 best among the losers.
How the Four Rounds Work for a Private League
Private leagues follow the same four-round structure as every Redraft Reaper league: Wild Card, Divisional, Conference Championship, and the Super Bowl. Before each round, every remaining manager drafts a completely new roster from the NFL teams still playing. See How It Works for the full rules, including roster slots and position caps.
Cost, Refunds, and Prizes
The entry fee is a flat usage fee for the platform. There are no cash prizes, winnings, or payouts of any kind -- it is a skill-based game, and the reward is bragging rights. Fees are refundable in full at any time before your team is drafted; once your team has been drafted, that league's fee is non-refundable. Managers can also leave a league before its draft, and refunds follow the same policy.
Try It Before You Invite Anyone
